Caitlin Barlow

Caitlin Barlow grew up in Michigan, Ohio and Illinois, making her the most Midwestern person to ever exist. After graduating with a B.A. in History and a minor in Spanish from Illinois State University, Barlow moved to Chicago to pursue comedy and to earn her master's degree in Bilingual/Bicultural ESL Education from DePaul University. During her time in Chicago, Barlow was a fourth grade teacher in Chicago Public Schools by day and a comedian by night. She regularly performed improvisation and sketch comedy at the iO Theater, The Annoyance Theater and The Second City. She co-founded the comedy group The Katydids, whose web series Teachers was picked up to series by TV Land. The show ran for three seasons. Barlow wrote, executive produced and acted in all fifty episodes. Her other credits include developing a YA comedy with Abominable Productions, developing the best selling YA novel The Miscalculations of Lightning Girl to a television pitch and co-creating, producing and writing content for the satirical momfluencer social media account The Cleave, which was recently named as a winner of the Yes And Laughter Lab. When not writing and developing new projects, Barlow spends her time keeping her two tiny children alive and being the least fit person at her crossfit gym.
